“Go Tell the Bishop!”

another conversation with Sarita Kenedy East

Tuesday, October 11, 2005

Oh, my! Sarita visited me very early this morning. We had quite a conversation. She shared with me a new message. I, of course, protested no one will believe me.

“Could I please have a sign?”

“People always want a sign. You can tell them I came as ‘bread comes down from above.’”

“How about something more practical?” I protested.

“Tell them the ‘Bread of Life’ sent me! Those who have understanding will know. Those without understanding will not believe whatever the sign I give!”

Here is Sarita’s new message:

Tell the bishops they are too caught up in worldliness. Tell them they must return to the reading of The Word and to prayer. That is their burden and their gift to the Church.

I am disturbed with what is going on at the foundation. They have become shepherds of money; they are shepherds of souls!

As I told you to tell them earlier, they are to give away the money as rapidly as possible. I told you to tell them to give it to the United Nations children’s emergency fund. They are still hoarding the money.

Tell them to buy bread for the suffering children of the world immediately. Are they fearful they will not receive tomorrow what they will need to shepherd souls?

They say the foundation is to use money to end the cycle of poverty. What do they know about ending the cycle of poverty?

The poor are always present. They should be concerned with ending the cycle of spiritual destitution.

I am disturbed the bishops treat the foundation as if it were the legacy of the Church. Cow manure! (Sarita spoke those words!)

Have they such little faith in the providence of God? God, who was able to tell me, surely tells others to give generously so those in greatest material need may be helped! God is still able to multiply loaves and fishes! But the bishops must offer the hungering multitudes the True Bread that comes down from above!

The bishops must pray and study the Word of God! Tell them Benedict XVI understands. He is listening. Let everyone listen.

My old house on La Parra is now called “Lebh Shomea.” The Oblates are listening. Let the bishops listen. Let everyone listen. Tell the bishops on the foundation to listen!

This was Sarita’s latest message.

Sarita and I continued to chat. She told me she got quite a kick out of General Cisneros and his crew trying to look like they really cared about the poor. "Ha! Ha!" she laughed. Sarita enjoys laughing. "If they cared so much about the poor, they wouldn't take such large salaries for themselves!" she said.

Sarita told me they were using the expression "to end the cycle of poverty" as a knee jerk to the Liberals. "Any good Catholic knows you can't end poverty. Only God can end poverty. He makes rich and he makes poor. Look at me and my family. Do you think Johnny Jr. got rich from working? Did I? God just puts money where he wants to to test people. Sure, people with money can make more money, and they should. But it doesn't stop there. They are to spread around what they have. Ole Paul put it best. "Those who have gathered much should share with those who have gathered little, so there is equality."

I told Sarita I appreciated her visit, but that I really needed to get back to sleep. "I've got to get my winks or I'm good for nothing!"

Poof! And Sarita was gone!
